Today I’m going to discuss 5 Facts about Epilepsy.
Epilepsy is due to increased electrical activity of brain cells.
This may affect part of the brain or the whole brain.
This increase in electrical activity can cause seizures which are stiffening or jerking movements of the arms and legs.
Seizures may be associated with a loss of consciousness, altered consciousness, and other symptoms.
Epilepsy may have a number of underlying causes including genetics, trauma, infection, inflammation, and alterations in blood flow or underlying disease.
Epilepsy may also be found to have no underlying cause.
